Magazine Cover Photo shoot;

As we already discovered, to create a magazine cover, we needed to have the main image of the Sophie as the actress rather then the character. We came up with some ideas then decided to form a photo shoot of Sophie and dress her appropriately to make her look like a film star. We did this in Sarah's house, and used a               camera. We found this successful and this post is to show the process we went through in order to create an effective image for our magazine cover.

These pictures demonstrate the make-up and hair process and the camera use. We had to use a lamp and a completely white background, We put white sheets down on the floor and used Sarah's house as she has white walls, this is to make sure there was a plain background for our magazine cover, and know that white surroundings are used in professional photo shoots.

We also had to experiment with the lighting to make sure the light hit Sophie right, and whether to use natural daylight or artificial light. We decided to use artificial lighting and a lamp, this worked well and shined how we wanted it to behind Sophie's face, emphasising her hair and facial features, and subtly shining around her outline to create a softening, but bright effect.

The angle at which we took the photo's was also very important. We tried a selection of different angles, and once we had all of the images on to a computer, we filtered through which ones we thought were fit for purpose and which ones should be deleted, either due to bad quality or a angle which would not work for our magazine cover.
